With summer on its way, it’s time for a weekend getaway. We know you’re already planning your beach trips and weekends in the mountains. We’re ready for lazy days spent in hammocks and strolling along the beach. But before you set off on your road trip, you need the perfect bag for a weekend away. Leave those rolling suitcases at home! We’ve featured some of our favorite weekender bags before, and now we’re going tell you about one we both own in this Everlane Weekender Review.
Our Everlane Weekender Review
We both own an Everlane Weekender bag, so that’s a good start to this review and should really tell you something. Meagan bought a suede version that has since been retired, and Stephanie followed suit by buying the navy canvas weekender with the black leather straps.
Everlane Weekender PROS:
- It’s the perfect size for a weekend away!
- The Everlane Weekender 100% water-resistant cotton twill exterior is thick, sturdy, and looks great. Oh, and hooray for water-resistant materials!
- The materials hold up really well. Meagan has had hers for over 2 years now, and it goes everywhere with her.
- Speaking of which, it fits in the overhead compartment.
- Everlane is just great at minimal, classic style.
- I like the interior pocket and the tiny pocket on the outside. My chargers end up in there so I can grab them quickly.
- Since there’s one interior zipper pocket on the inside, that makes it ultra-roomy. I can fill the rest of the bag completely without worrying about different sized compartments.
- The leather straps are stylish and really strong. They are also holding up really well since they are thick and rough.
- The price point can’t be beat. They currently range from $98 for an all canvas version to $130 for the leather and canvas version.
Everlane Weekender CONS:
- It’d be great if they offered a long, cross-body strap. I think that’d make it more appealing. I know my husband doesn’t enjoy carrying it under his arm like a purse.
- I guess maybe I’m torn on the one interior zipper pocket. I said above that it’s great that there’s so much open space in there because you can just fill it up, but sometimes I do wish there was more than one inner pocket. We use packing cubes to keep things organized in there, and you can read more about that here.
The Everlane Weekender – Our Verdict:
We love our Everlane Weekender bags and think they were a great investment! We recommend darker colors so you can minimize stains. In fact, we’re trying to talk our husbands into them, but they’re not sure they want matching bags with their wives even though these are gender neutral.
PSSST -The new dipped versions are très chic! We love the new leather base version, but we’re probably too rough on our bags for that light canvas color. Fingers crossed for a darker version!
