Since Lookout Mountain and Chattanooga are only two hours away from Atlanta, it makes the perfect weekend getaway! Whether you’re looking to be active, relaxed or to experience culture, this area has a ton of great options. For a beautiful, relaxing place to stay, look no further than the Chanticleer Inn, a charming Chattanooga area inn on Lookout Mountain!
The Chanticleer Inn
Located in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, about ten minutes away from downtown Chattanooga, the Chanticleer Inn is a peaceful oasis just across the street from Rock City. With 18 uniquely decorated and exterior facing rooms, it is an excellent place to treat yourself to a little rest and rejuvenation. The owners, Rob and Audrey, have really thought of everything to make the inn luxurious, both inside and out! There’s a fire pit with outdoor seating, pool, a bocce ball court, a wonderful shared space with an indoor dining room, an outdoor patio for breakfast, and a sitting area for reading and relaxing. Upon arrival at the reception, the lovely Dawn will give you a helpful introductory tour of the grounds and your room.
In each room there’s a cozy sitting area, a comfortable pillow top bed for a good nights sleep, and super soft bathrobes in the closet for lounging in. Audrey is an interior decorator, and it shows in the gorgeous, French country inspired décor. The attention to detail and guests’ needs really shows! In certain rooms, there are fireplaces, herbed salts to use in the jet tub, complimentary soft drinks in the mini-fridge, and an individual outdoor patio.
Their attentive concierge will recommend restaurants, tours and outings, if you desire. If you want to stay close to the inn for dinner, there’s a fantastic local restaurant called Café on the Corner about five minutes away. I highly recommend the salmon- it had bacon on top! We skipped dessert at the restaurant because we knew there were sweet treats waiting for us back at the inn, and they were delicious.
Of course, for me, one highlight of any inn stay is breakfast! Our breakfast included strawberry crepes, sausage and a light buffet of fruits and cereals.
Similar to the Beechwood Inn where Meagan stayed in Clayton, the Chanticleer Inn is a member of Select Registry, which is a portfolio of quality-assured premier bed and breakfasts, inns, and hotels throughout North America. As a member of Select Registry, each member has passed an “unannounced, rigorous, 200-point quality assurance inspection to earn and maintain its membership, and to ensure it provides travelers with guaranteed quality, exceptional service, and an unforgettable lodging experience.” Select Registry has a rewards program should you start booking stays with them!
When writing in the room’s guest book, I noticed many visitors were there for birthdays, honeymoons, and anniversaries. The Chanticleer Inn is definitely a special place to go to celebrate any occasion! But don’t just take my word for it- check out other press on TripAdvisor and Southern Living.
